Mobile Crane Operator Training Certification

Osha general requirements, (1926.1400,1926.1404 and 1926.1425)

Effective November 8, 2010  all employees rigging on a construction site, shall be qualified.  This is a mandatory requirement in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.1400 Regulations.

Rigging certification is now required Nationwide.  The new law was published in the Federal Register on August 9, 2010 and took effect November 8, 2010. Rigging training is the responsibility of the the employer and are given 4 years to comply with this new ruling.  Which will be November 10, 2014.  The new ruling applies to employees engaging in rigging a construction site (see CFR1926.1425) cranes and derricks in construction. More information can be found under 1926.1404 (r) (1) and 1926.1425 (c) (3). A qualified rigger is a rigger who meets the criteria for a qualified person.
